TM 10-4610-243-131-10. LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION OF MAJOR COMPONENTS.Refer to figure 1-1.a.350GPMPumpConnectionKits. Each connection kit consists of hoses, valves and tees to connect the 350gpm pump, hypochlorination unit, water meter and 125 GPM pump connection kits to the water system. One350 pump kit is installed at the water source and is used to fill the collapsible water tanks. Another 350 GPMkit is installed on the discharge side of the water tanks to pump water to the dispensing points(1)350 gpm Pump. The pump is a self-contained, engine driven centrifugal water pump. The pump istrailer mounted to aid transport and is the primary source of water delivery in the 800K water system.Refer to the applicable TM for location and description of major components on the pump.(2)Hypochlorination Unit Automatically injects hypochlorite solution into water supply in direct proportion towater flow rate. Refer to the applicable TM for location and description of major components of thehypochlorination unit.(3)Water Meter. Turbine type meter measures total water flow through 350 connection kit.b.125GPMPumpConnectionKits. The connection kit consists of hoses, valves and tees needed to connect the125 gpm pump and check valve to the 350 gpm pump connection kit. One 125 gpm pump kit is connected toeach 350 gpm pump connection kit. The 125 gpm pump may be used as a spare to back up the 350 gpmpump or used by itself when reduced water pumping capacity is needed. The 125 gpm pump may also beused with the 350 gpm pump to increase pumping capacity.(1)125 gpm pump. The 125 gpm, engine driven, centrifugal water pump is skid mounted with handles atboth ends to aid lifting and positioning. Refer to the applicable TM for location and description of majorcomponents on the pump(2)Check Valve. In line check valve prevents back flow of water through the 125 gpm pump duringpumping operations.c.DualTankConnectionKits. The dual tank connection kit consists of hoses, valves and tees needed to connectthe 50K collapsible water tanks to the water system. Hand operated gate valves are used to control water flowto and from each tank A total of eight dual tank connection kits are used to connect the 16 water tanks. Eachtank can store up to 50,000 gallons of potable water. The tanks expand and become pillow shape when filled.Handles on the sides of the tank aid movement and positioning of tank during setup and take down. Each tankis supplied with a ground cloth, couplings, vent tubes, elbows and drain valve. Refer to the applicable TM forlocation and description of major components on the water tanks.d.4-inchInterconnectionKits. The interconnection kit consists of hoses and tees and is used to provideadditional control of water tank filling and discharge operations. Two interconnection kits are used in thesystem.1-4
