Install the test tools and do the test procedure
again. Do this until the dimension on the dial
indictor is the same as the dimension given in
the RACK SETTING INFORMATION. After the
fuel setting is correct, remove the test tools.
Install cover (2) and shut-off solenoid (1).
CROSSOVER LEVERS
Tools Needed:
3P1546 Calibration Pin, 5P4206 Wrench,
5P4209 Gauge, 5P7253 Socket Assembly.
Checking Crossover Levers
NOTE:
The crossover levers normally do not
need checking unless one or more of
the following conditions exist (after
the timing is checked and the other
corrections
shown
in
TROUBLESHOOTING
GUIDE
have
been made):
A.
The engine produces too much black smoke.
B.
The engine runs rough because fuel delivery is
not even.
C.
Some cylinders continue to fire at fuel shutoff
position.
D.
The
complete
injection
group
is
being
reconditioned.
CAUTION
Before any service work is done on
this fuel system, the outside of the
injection pump housing and all parts
connected to it must be clean.
1.
Remove the fuel shutoff solenoid (1), top
cover (2) of the fuel pump housing and
the cover over the torque control group.
2.
Remove the fuel that is in the injection
pump housing and the governor housing.
REMOVAL OF COVERS
1. Shut-off solenoid. 2. Top cover.
3.
Put the 3P1546 Calibration Pin (3) in
calibration hole as shown.
4.
Install the 5P4226 Adapter (7) as shown.
Fasten it in position with a ID4533 bolt (5)
and a ID4538 bolt (6).
