LUBRICATING OILS Lubricating  oils  should  meet  the  requirements  of  the  U.S.  Ordnance  Specifications  MIL-L-46152  or  MIL-L-2104C.    The lubricating oils for use in Perkins Diesel engines should have a minimum Viscosity Index of 80. Note: Operators are advised not to use a lubricating oil to the MIL-L-T104C specification in 4.236 marine engines for the first 25/50 hours of operation.
