TM 10-5430-243-12&P 0021 000021 00-2 DISASSEMBLY Gate Valve 1. Remove jam nut (1) from the top of hand-wheel (2). 2. Remove hand-wheel (2) from the top of valve stem (3). 3. Remove packing nut (4) from bonnet (5). 4. Remove packing gland (6) and gland spring (7) from valve stem (3). NOTE The packing ring will remain in the bonnet until the valve stem, the disk riser, and the disk halves have been removed from the bonnet. 5.
