Replace any damaged screws, retaining ring, dowels.(2)Inspect the gears for scored or worn side faces or journals, damaged teeth, thread or keyway, and surfacecracks.(3)While servicing the drive and driven gears, particular attention should be paid to the following points.(a)Gear widths of drive and driven gears must be within 0.005 mm (0.0002") of each other to enduresatisfactory pump efficiency.(b)Journals must be within 0.013 mm (0.0005") of each other.(c)Replacement gears are supplied as matched sets.c.Assembly.(1)Place the front cover (4), machined surface down, on a clean flat surface.
