a. Removal.
(1) Check camshaft to idler gear backlash before removing camshaft assembly.
a.
Install a dial indicator on crankcase in contact with camshaft gear.
b.
Backlash should be 0.0017 to 0.0104 in. (0.045-0.264 mm).
