TM 5-3895-370-14&P 4-59. WATER INLET CONNECTION REPLACEMENT. This task covers: a. Removal b. Installation INITIAL SETUP Tools Equipment Condition Tool kit, general mechanic's: automotive TM or Para Condition Description Para 4-56 Coolant system drained. Wrench, torque Materials/Parts Seal ring a. Removal (1) Loosen clamp (1) and remove hose (2). (2) Remove three screws (3) and water outlet (4) from engine block (5). (3) If damaged, remove two pipe plugs (6) from water outlet (4). NOTE Seal ring may stay with water outlet. (4) Remove and discard seal ring (7) from engine block (5). b. Installation. (1) Install seal ring (7) in engine block (5). (2) If removed, install two pipe plugs (6) in water outlet (4). (3) Install water outlet (4) with three screws (3). Tighten screws 32 lb-ft (44 Nm). (4) Install hose (2) and tighten clamp (1). NOTE Follow-on maintenance: Fill coolant system (para 4-56). END OF TASK 4-145
