Shut down theengine and disconnect negative (-) battery cable frombattery, if applicable, before internally inspectingor servicing.MOVING PARTS can cause serious injury.Keep clear of moving parts, i. e., fans, belts, rotors, etc.HOT SURFACES can cause burns.Allow equipment and work to cool before touching.4-9.1General.The service life of this welding generator can be prolonged and operating efficiency maintainedunder normal conditions by following the routine service and workshop maintenance procedures outlined in this section.Where operating conditions are severe, more frequent attention must be given to all routine service categories; howevera special effort must be made to maintain clean internal and external engine surfaces.4-9.2PeriodicCleaningandInspection. - A schedule for cleaning and inspection should be set up, based on thetype and conditions of service, to include the following:a.Keep the inside of the unit clean by blowing out the unit with clean, dry compressed air.b.Wipe oil and fuel spills from engine immediately to avoid accumulation of dust.c.Check for fluid leaks indicating loose oil or fuel connections. Tighten loose connections and clean oil orfuel spills or leaks off engine surfaces.IMPORTANTPeriodically inspect the labels on this unit for legibility.
