EQUALIZING BEAM SUSPENSION (HENDRICKSON)6.Install torque rods to axle brackets and framebrackets. When tightening, rap bracket with hammer to drive taper of torque rod stud intobracket. I ends of torque rods have straddlemount ends (: holes) as shown in Figure 16, usespacers between the bracket and crossmemberfor proper axle setting. Do not exceed 12.7mm(1/2") to obtain major adjustment. Tighten shaftnuts to specified torque7.Tighten equalizer beam end fittings to specifiedtorque. Refer to Torque Chart inSPECIFICATIONS8.Install axle shafts. Connect propeller shafts,brake lines, interaxle lock control linkage orpiping, etc9.On vehicles equipped with hydraulic brakes,bleed brake system and check for leaks.
