(6) Refer to b. above and test injector for opening pressure, spray pattern and leakage.
(7) If opening pressure is not correct, replace shims. A thicker shim will result in higher pressure.
(a)
The shims are available in thicknesses of 0.0315 in. (0.080 mm) to 0.77 inch (1.96 mm).
(b)
The shims are graduated in thickness by 0.0015 in. (0.04 mm).
(c)
A change in shim thickness of 0.0015 in. (0.04 mm) will increase pressure by 72 psi (490 kPa).
(d)
Add or delete shims as necessary to obtain correct opening pressure.
