INLET/OUTLET PORT STRAINERS INSPECTION.a.Inlet/Outlet Port Strainer Removal.NOTE·Needle-nose pliers and adjustablewrench may be necessary toremove the port strainer.·Inlet port is shown. There is onlyone gasket in outlet port.(1)Loosen jamnut (1) and capscrew (2).NOTEPlace a suitable container beneathstrainer body before removing cap tocollect all bituminous material.Contact your local environmentaloffice or support installation forproper disposal.(2)Using a suitable container beneathstrainer body (3), remove yoke (4) andcap (5) from strainer body (3).(3)Remove strainer (6) and gasket (7) frombody (3) and gasket (8) from cap (5).b.Port Strainer Inspection.(1)Inspect strainer (6) for damage or cloggedwith debris. Clean or replace strainer asnecessary.(2)Inspect gaskets (7 and 8) for nicks, tears,or other damage. Replace gaskets ifnecessary.c.Inlet/Outlet Port Strainer Installation.(1)Install gasket (8) on cap (5) and gasket (7)and strainer (6) in strainer body (3).(2)Install cap (5) and yoke (4) on strainerbody (3).(3)Install capscrew (2) and jamnut (1) on cap(5). Tighten capscrew (2) until snug, thentighten jamnut (1) securely.`3-28
