UNUSUAL ENGINE NOISES.
Step 1. Inspect rocker arm assemblies (para 5-64).
If rocker arm assemblies are not within limits, replace rocker arm assemblies.
If rocker arm assemblies are within limits, go to step 2.
Step 2. Inspect cylinder head assembly (para 5-64).
If cylinder head assembly is not within limits, replace and repair cylinder head assembly.
If cylinder head assembly is within limits, go to step 3.
Step 3. Inspect crankshaft, bearing caps, and main bearings (para 5-65).
If crankshaft and components are not within limits, replace and repair crankshaft and/or
components.
If crankshaft and components are within limits, fault not corrected. Notify supervisor.
HYDRAULIC SYSTEM
WARNING
Hydraulic fluid is very slippery and can cause falls. To avoid injury, wipe up
spilled fluid with rags.
18.
HYDRAULIC MOTOR DOES NOT OPERATE.
Step 1. Inspect feed hoses from variable-speed pump to hydraulic motor and cross-over relief valve.
If hoses are crimped, damaged, or leaking, replace hoses (para 4-136).
If hoses are not crimped, damaged, or leaking, go to step 2.
