Removal Disconnect valve assembly from water system (refer to para. 2.10 to disconnect couplings).
Disassembly.

Clamp gate valve in vice.
Remove cap (1) from male coupler (7).
Remove chain (2) from cap (1) and male coupler (7).
Remove plug (3) from female coupler (5).
Remove chain (4) from plug (3) and female coupler (5).
Using pipe wrench, unscrew male coupler (7) from valve body (19).
Using pipe wrench, unscrew female coupler (5) from valve body (19).
Remove gasket (6) from female coupler (5).
Remove gasket (8) from cap (1).
Shut valve completely.
Remove handwheel nut (9).
Remove label plate (10) and handwheel (11).
Unscrew and remove packing gland nut (12).
Remove packing gland follower (13).
Remove packing (14).
Unscrew and remove stuffing box (15).
Unscrew bonnet (16) and remove it and attaching pieces.
NOTE
Stem (17) has left-handed threads.
Unscrew disc (18) from stem (17).
Remove stem (17) from bonnet (16).
