3-1. TROUBLESHOOTING
a. Table 3-1 lists the common malfunctions which you may find during the operation or mainte-
nance of the drum or its components.
Perform the tests/inspections and corrective actions in the
order listed.
b. This manual cannot list all malfunctions that may occur, nor all tests or inspections and corrective
actions. If a malfunction is not listed or is not corrected by listed corrective actions, notify your supervisor.

1. DRINKING WATER HAS UNUSUAL ODOR

The drum is authorized to be filled only with
drinking water. Use of the drum for any other
liquid may cause sickness or death of crew-
members.
If it has been determined during PMCS (Table 2-1) that the drum has been used
with any other liquid other than drinking water, or if it is suspected that the
drinking water may be contaminated, empty contents of drum and notify
supervisor.
2. HAN DWHEEL ON COUPLER VALVE IS DIFFICULT OR IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN
Step 1.
Coupler valve is binding or will not open or close.
Replace coupler valve.
