The cover plates (1) can thenbe removed.4.The dual circuit supply (double check) valve,located in the tractor control (parking brake)body i disassembled by grasping the web in thetop of the valve spool (3) with a narrow nosepliers, twist and pull the valve spool out.The shuttle (4) should also come out with thespool.5.Remove the shuttle return spring (5) and O-rings(6), (7), (8) and (9).CLEANING AND INSPECTIONThe acetal components which comprise most of theparts of the MV-2 valve should not be immersed in anysolvent type cleaner. Old lubricant should be wiped offparts to be reused and the bores of the body wiped outwith a clean dry cloth.REASSEMBLYLubricate O-rings, bore and sliding surfaces withlubricant listed in LUBRICANT SPECIFICATIONS, Item3.1.Place the shuttle return spring (5) in the dualcircuit supply valve bore in the body.2.Install O-rings (6) & (7) on the shuttle (4), and (8)and (9) on the valve spool (3).3.Insert the small end of the shuttle in the spooland insert the assembly into the valve bore, flushwith top of body. The dual circuit supply valvespool is retained in the body by the same coverplate which also retains the tractor control(parking brake) spool.New service replacement spools will beprelubricated.4.Place cover plates over each plunger stem. Thecover plates are identical and are installedconvex side up.5.Place the red knob on the longer spool (for trailerair supply), matching the groove in the knob withthe tongue in the cover plate (where applicable),and secure with the roll pin.6.Place the yellow knob on the shorter spool (fortractor air supply), matching knob and cover(where applicable) and secure with the roll pin asbefore. A new roll pin will be found in each spoolpackage.7.Insert the shorter spool assembly with yellowknob in the tractor supply bore (housing with thedual supply valve). If the entire valve assemblyhas been removed, position the assembly sothat the tractor control body housing is at 3o’clock. With the open bore (trailer supply) at 9o’clock, rotate the button until wording on top-center is horizontally readable. The stepped sideof the cover plate should be covering the dualsupply valve. Secure the plate with the four flathead Phillips screws; torque to 2.Nm (25 in. lbs.CTS - 4079 - CHAPTER IX - Page 10
