SERVICE MANUALSERVICE INSTRUCTIONSNeedle bearing joints are simple in construction,easily removed from the vehicle and readilydisassembled and reassembled without the use of anyspecial tools or any special mechanical knowledge.Fig. 13REMOVAL FROM THE VEHICLE1.Double Flange, Yoke Types (Bearing Cap and SnapRing Construction)(Fig. 13)All Double Flange Yoke Type Joints are re-moved asa complete assembly by removal of the CompanionFlange Bolts, Nuts and Lockwashers, which allows theassembly to slip out from between the CompanionFlanges.2.Double End, Yoke Type (U-Bolt Construction) (Fig.14)Fig. 15Remove the U-Bolts, Nuts, and Lockwashers from theEnd Yokes. Slide the Sleeve Yoke toward the shaft tofree the Bearings from their seats between the shouldersin the End Yokes (Fig. 15). Care should be taken not todrop the two Bearings from the trunnion ends of theJournal Cross at both ends of the driveshaft.
