SERVICE MANUAL INTRODUCTION Introduction PROBLEM: HIGH VOLTAGE - VOLT-METER POINTER IN RED ZONE REASON OR CAUSE: 1. Grounded alternator field circuit - in either alternator, regulator, or wiring. 2. Defective regulator. PROBLEM: CRANKING MOTOR WILL NOT OPERATE OR OPERATES SLOWLY REASON OR CAUSE: 1. Faulty batteries. 2. Cables or terminals loose, dirty or defective. 3.
