PROBLEM: HIGH VOLTAGE - VOLT-METER POINTER IN RED ZONE
REASON OR CAUSE:
1.
Grounded alternator field circuit - in either alternator, regulator, or wiring.
2.
Defective regulator.
PROBLEM: CRANKING MOTOR WILL NOT OPERATE OR OPERATES SLOWLY
REASON OR CAUSE:
1.
Faulty batteries.
2.
Cables or terminals loose, dirty or defective.
3.
Starting switch defective.
4.
Cranking motor burned out.
5.
Commutator worn or dirty.
6.
Brushes not making proper contact.
7.
Starter solenoid defective.
8.
Drive end bearing badly worn.
