QUICK RELEASE VALVE (SPRING BRAKE CONTROL VALVE) (cont)

Installation.
(1)
Install elbow (2) and adapters (6) on valve,
using Teflon tape.
(2)
Install quick release valve (3) on air
reservoir nipple (4) and secure by rotating
entire valve clockwise.
(3)
Connect air lines (1), per tagged
identification, using Teflon tape.
(4)
Install pipe plugs (5).
(5)
Close drain valves.
(6)
Pressurize brake system. Spring brake
chambers should release. Test for leaks as
follows.

Testing.
(1)
Coat quick release valve with soapy water.
(2)
Leakage at valve should not exceed a one-inch bubble in five seconds. If excess leakage is found,
replace quick release valve.
