Turn engine over by hand after each piston assembly is installed to be sure that all bearings are free. (9) Check the side clearance between the connecting rod and crankshaft. Clearance should be a minimum of 0.002 in. (0.05 mm) and a maximum of 0.018 in. (0.45 mm). (10) Refer to para. 5-12 and install the oil pump. (11) Refer to para. 5-1 1 and install the oil pan. (12) Refer to para. 5-7 and install the cylinder head. 6-29
