If sealant contactseyes, flush eyes with water and getimmediate medical attention.NOTE·Both front and rear oil seals areinstalled the same way. Rear oilseal shown.·Pilot installation tool is suppliedwith replacement seals.·Apply se aling compound tooutside diameter of seal.(1)Insert rear seal (1) in pilot and install in engine(2). Remove pilot.(2)Seat rear seal (1) using installation tool.(3)If new front seal was installed, apply coat ofsealing compound to outside diameter of newseal.(4)Repeat steps (1 and 2) for front seal.NOTEFollow-on maintenance:Install flywheel (para 5-20).Install crankshaft pulley (para 5-21).END OF TASK5-40
