CONTROL PANEL (TYPE 4)SYSTEMS OPERATIONACA Alternating Current AmmeterAC ammeter (ACA) gives an indication. in amperes, ofthe current from each phase of the generator to the load.Ammeter/ voltmeter selector switch (AVS) is used toconnect the ammeter to the current transformer onphase T1, T2 or T3; see Contact Chart. Ammetersnormally have an input range from 0 to 5 amperes.Current transformer (CT1, CT2 or CT3) causes areduction of the actual line current. in its respectivephase lead. to a level within the input range of theammeter. The ammeter is calibrated (has marks) to givean indication of the actual current flow in one phase loadof the generator.NOTE: Several methods have been used toconnect control panel instruments. Therecommended method is shown in thediagrams.NOTE: X gives an indication of a closedcontact. X on the line gives an indication of"make before break."A98947X2AMMETER/VOLTMETER SELECTOR SWITCH (AVS) WIRING DIAGRAMSACAAlternating current ammeter ·Terminal point on TS2 inACVAlternating currentvoltmetercontrol panelF1,2,3Fuses·Terminal Point on TS3 partFMFrequency meterof voltage regulator217
