COOLING SYSTEM - M.113.Remove the thermostat — see Fig. M.14.Testing the ThermostatIf it is suspected that the thermostat is not operatingcorrectly it should be tested in the following manner:—1.Immerse the thermostat in a suitable containerof water and gradually heat. Check the watertemperature at frequent intervals with anaccurate thermometer. The valve shouldcommence to open at the temperature stampedon the top face of the thermostat adjacent to thevalve seat.2.If the thermostat does not function properly, noadjustment is possible. Replace with a new unit.
