SERVICE MANUALCALIBRATIONSection 5Check Start Fuel Quantity29.This is an operating test made to assure that theinjection pump provides the proper quantity offuel to start the engine. Test is made as follows:a.Remove dial indicator from injection pumpand install rack end cap.b.Operate test stand at specified RPM withcontrol lever locked in start position (fullyforward) for 1000 strokes.c.Record fuel delivery from elements andcompare with specifications given onCALIBRATION CHART.d.If fuel delivery does not meet minimumspecifications, remove shim(s) from underscrew head located at the end of controlrack.
