Adjustment ismade by loosening stop bracket against whichshutoff lever will strike (Figure 11). Operateshutoff lever to rear and hold in this position(rack against internal stop). Reposition externalstop lever bracket so that shutoff lever willcontact bracket stop screw just before rackwould be stopped by the internal stop. Racksetting (dial indicator reading) with rack againstexternal stop should be between 1.5 2.0 mm(.059 .079").Figure 11. Adjusting External Stop Bracket1.Stop Bracket2.Stop Screw3.Shutoff LeverCheck Start Fuel Cutout28.This is an operating test made to assure thatcontrol rack will move from start fuel to full loadfuel position at specified pump speed.Adjustment is made by varying the height of therack link adjustment screw.Increase test stand speed slowly from 50 RPMand simultaneously operate control leverbetween lo-idle and hi-idle stops until cutoutoccurs and observe test stand speed. Teststand speed should be between specified RPM.If specified test speed is not obtained, repositionrack link adjusting screw height as follows: (SeeFigure 12)a.Using 10 mm Allen wrench, remove plugfrom adjustment access hole in top ofgovernor housing.b.Loosen adjusting screw locknut (10 mm).c.If cutout occurred below specified speed,turn adjusting screw counterclockwise andif cutout occurred above specified speedturn adjusting screw clockwise.d.Tighten adjusting screw locknut and repeattest.e.Reinstall plug in adjustment access hole.Figure 12.
