They are used to meet therequired load capacity of the 2nd speed gear.14.Remove the snap ring and 1st speed gear withthe thrust washer and caged needle bearing.15.Examine the mainshaft gearlocks and theinternal corners of the synchronizer clutchingteeth for excessive wear that could produce gearjumping.16.Mainshaft reassembly begins by placing the 1stspeed gear and thrust washer on the mainshaft.Secure them with a snap ring.17.Place the 2nd speed gear on the mainshaft, overtwo rows of loose needle bearings.18.Install the 2nd-3rd speed clutch gear and secureit with a snap ring.17
