Wear protective goggles anduse in well-ventilated area. Ifadhesive gets in eyes, try to keepeyes open; flush eyes with water for15 minutes and get immediatemedical attention.(1)If removed, apply sealing compound on threestuds (16) and install studs.(2)Install gasket (15).(3)If removed, install key (13) on pump shaft (11).NOTE·Ensure that injection pump shaftis locked and shaft key is alinedwith gear housing and gear.·Ensure that engine is at top deadcenter (TDC).(4)Install injection pump (3) and three nuts (14).Hand-tighten nuts.CAUTIONEnsure that letter A on injectionpump gear alines with timing mark oncamshaft gear. Failure to aline willresult in damage to injection pumpand engine.(5)Install injection pump gear (1) while holdingcrankshaft gear (12).CAUTIONDisengage timing pin beforetightening nut or damage may resultto gear and timing pin.(6)Install spring washer (10) and nut (9). Tightennut 11 to 15 lb-ft (15 20 Nm).5-79
