13. Inspect valve coupler (Figure 5, Item 1). Discard if valve coupler body is cracked.
14. Slide handwheel (Figure 5, Item 4) over the valve stem, followed by the washer (Figure 5, Item 3).
Tighten nut (Figure 5, Item 2) with an adjustable wrench on to the valve stem.
15. Insert gaskets (Figure 5, Item 5) into valve coupler openings.

16. With the handwheel turned completely to the `close' position (Figure 6, Item 1), slide the opening
of the valve coupler onto the adapter assembly (Figure 6, Item 2).
