CONTROL PANEL (TYPE 1)SYSTEMS OPERATIONGENERATOR MOUNTED CONTROL PANEL(TYPE 1 - PRIOR TO CATERPILLAR PARTS SERVICE)INTRODUCTIONThe uses of the generator mounted control panel are:To help control the electric power made by thegenerator setTo monitor (check) the operation of the generator set.To help protect the generator set from damage causedby low oil pressure, high coolant temperature, overspeedand overcrank.To help with the transfer of electrical load to and fromthe generator set.To help parallel two or more units onto the same bus.IDENTIFICATIONThe location of the control panel is on the top of theregulator housing. Identification of some of the controlpanel components is given on black plastic plates. Theposition of control panel switches is also given on theseplates.
