SR 4 GENERATORDISASSEMBLY AND ASSEMBLYROTOR ASSEMBLYINSTALL ROTOR ASSEMBLY(HORIZONTAL METHOD)4457-121.Be sure the stator assembly and the rotorassembly are clean.2.Put a piece of cardboard or sheet metal on theinside of the stator.3.Put the rotor in position for installation in back ofthe generator. Put a steel pipe through thestator and on to the front of the shaft, against thehub.4.Fasten a hoist to the end of rotor (1). Install therotor. Use the pipe as a support for the otherend of the rotor.NOTICEKeep the rotor level when it isinstalled and prevent damage to thestator wiring.5.Remove the cardboard or sheet metal frombetween the rotor and the stator.6.Install with two guide bolts 1/2"-13 NC threads,10 in. (250 mm) long, in the back of generator.Install the cover assembly with a hoist. Connectthe two field wires F1 and F2 to the regulatorassembly.NOTICEDo not damage the stationary exciterfield which is part of the cover, whenthe cover is installed.7.Install the two retainers (2) for the bearing.'Install the louvers and panel in the back of thegenerator frame.8.Install the generator fan (4).
