STAMPED ANGLE SPRING CLUTCHSecure the dial indicator to engine flywheel or crankshaft, and place the gauge finger against the housing pilot.Rotate the flywheel by hand, marking the high and lowpoints with chalk or soapstone. Total indicateddifference between high and low points must NOTEXCEED .008".Now move the gauge finger to contact the face of theengine flywheel housing. Rotate the flywheel and markhigh and low points. Total runout should not exceed008".Next, secure the dial indicator to the engine flywheelhousing with gauge finger on the face of the flywheelnear the outer edge. Rotate flywheel. Maximumallowable runout is .0005" per inch of flywheel diameter. For example, 007" runout is allowable for a 14" clutchNow move the gauge finger to contact the pilot bearingbore surface. Rotate flywheel. Maximum allowablerunout is .005".Exceeding these limits causes misalignment. If notcorrected misalignment causes premature wear of drivetrain components.CTS-4195 Page 11
