Testinq.
(1)
Place starter on suitable bench or stand.
(2)
Connect a 12-volt battery or 12-volt power supply positive terminal to battery solenoid as shown.
(3)
Momentarily connect the negative side of the power supply to battery solenoid as shown.
(4)
Observe starter pinion gear. Gear should extend out from housing and start to rotate.
(5)
Disengage negative terminal.
(6)
If starter pinion gear does not extend or rotate, replace starter.
