Materials/Parts Para 5-22 Rocker arm assemblies Cloth, lint-free (item 12, Appendix E) removed. a. Removal. NOTE Hold adjoining gears to get a correct measurement of backlash. (1) Measure camshaft gear (1) backlash at position A. Normal measurement is 0.003 to 0.013 in. (0.076 - 0.330 mm). If above or below normal measurement, replace gear. 5-286
