SERVICE MANUALFig. 5 Removing Outboard Mounted DrumBrake Groups with Backing Plate (Fig. 6)Rockwell "T" Series Brake GroupThe Rockwell “T” series brake group is disassembled itthe same manner as the Wagner brake group.Wagner Broke Group1.Remove shoe return spring or springs. This isaccomplished by either expanding spring withpliers and unhooking spring between shoes, orby using a pry bar or large screwdriver andprying shoe off cam. Then remove roller fromcam end of shoe. Removing rollers first willrelieve most of the tension from return springs,permitting them to be disconnected from shoes.The roller retainers (if equipped) must bedisconnected prior to removing the rollers.2.Remove "C" washer (retainers) from guide pins.Then remove flat washers and bowed washersfrom guide pins. Note position of washers forreassembly sequence.3.Remove retainers from anchor pins.
