Turn tappet holder handlesfully counterclockwise, grease ramps and guidepiece.21.Starting with tappets No. 1 and 2 push tappetsdown. Insert tappet holder (ramps up) into sideplug hole between two tappets. A fourthinchshould show between holder handle and pumphousing.NOTE:If tappet depressor tool KDEP 1505 is notavailable mount pump in spring compressor KDEP 1067and proceed as follows (eliminate steps 1 9-21):a.Insert each tappet in housing so that rollertappet axis is at a right angle to the pump(Figure 7)Figure 7. With spring compressors handlespointing in opposite directions, place springcompressor levers over first two tappets.Depress right lever of spring compressor asfar as possible. Hold lever down and slowlyturn right handle clockwise 45(Figure 8).Figure 8.1.Downward Force2.Spring Compressorc.When handle is turned 45the foot of theplunger will go into the lower spring seathole allowing the lever to go down farther.d.Depress right lever further and turn handleclockwise until the handle is at 90 fromlever (Figure 8).e.Push other tappet down with left lever. Theleft lever will hold both tappets down.Slowly turn left handle clockwise. When lefthandle is turned approximately 45foot ofthe plunger will go into lower spring seathole. Push lever all the way down and turnclockwise until handle is at 90 from lever.f.While holding left lever down (both tappetsdepressed), fully insert a tappet holder(ramps up) into the side plug hole betweentwo tappets.22.The first two tappets have now been held inplace by the tappet holder.
